Details of the first walking event organised by Dyfed Powys Federation’s wellbeing lead have been released.
Dai Gaskins is setting up a series of informal walks to help get people more active, and is encouraging officers to take part for the benefit of their physical and mental health.
The walk starts at 11am on Saturday 7 August from Shepherds, Parkmill, Swansea, SA3 2EH. Parking per vehicle is £3.50.
Two routes around Cefn Bryn Ridge are planned, taking in views across Loughor Estuary and Gower beaches.
The first route is eight miles with a second, shorter route of around four or five miles.
Walkers will need appropriate footwear as part of the walk is over broken terrain, as well as appropriate clothing. Basic first aid kit will be available. Walkers will also need to bring water and refreshments, although there is a shop at Shepherds.
Dai, who is already looking to set up walks at other locations, said: “It would be great if we can see as many people as possible taking part, doing something active and possibly meeting new friends, easing the stresses of work, chatting with like-minded people and generally boosting their wellbeing.”
